“Caorle is a town with a thousand faces, and offers many ways you can enjoy yourselves with your children or with friends, alternating time on the beach with walks through the charming old town, or with an exciting day at the aquatic park close to the centre. You just need a little curiosity and a desire to have fun: Caorle is sure to surprise you!.”
The historic centre of Caorle
Just a short way from its 15 km of beaches is the historic centre of Caorle: an old fishing town which preserves an important legacy of art and traditions. Caorle has an ancient history, with evidence of settlements dating back to the Bronze Age. During the Roman era, it was the most important port on the Upper Adriatic coast.
Caorle is known for its “calli” (alleyways) with pastel-coloured houses, its typically Venetian layout (Venice is just an hour away from Caorle), and its characteristic fishing harbour.
The symbol of this city on the sea is its bell-tower: 48 metres in height and leaning slightly towards the cathedral. The tower has an unusual conical top, in contrast to other cylindrical towers. There are many places to visit in the town, including the Cathedral, the Sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna dell’Angelo, and the Church of the Madonna di Pompei, at the entrance to the pedestrianised zone.
We should also mention the various events which take place in the summer, reflecting the identity of this city on the sea. In May, there is “Flussi Diversi”: an annual get-together held in the old centre, and a chance to meet and hear poets from all the regions of the Comunità Alpe Adria.
Art-lovers are sure to enjoy “Scogliera Viva“, an interesting and evocative event which takes places every two years. Internationally famous sculptors create real works of art from local rocks: or rather from blocks of Euganean trachyte whose function has long been to defend the old town from the sea.
For the entertainment of both adults and children, in September there’s the International Festival of Street Theatre: “La Luna nel Pozzo”.
The historic centre of Caorle comes to life with shows and spectacles performed by artists from all over Europe.
Aquafollie – Waterpark is a huge aquatic park, designed for families. It is close to the centre of Caorle and just 2 km from the Hotel Ariston.
The complex offers lots of attractions for every age: slides, water features, swimming-pools with hydro-massage, games and creative workshops for kids supervised by trained activity leaders, and a solarium terrace where you can sunbathe on comfortable loungers overlooking the wave pool. There are lots of activities for adults too, guaranteeing you a day full of fun.
The Park is open from May to September. Free entrance tickets for our younger guests.

Don Pablo Discobeach
Don Pablo, or rather Signor Paolo, is the name of the entrepreneur who opened this well-known disco pub in 1973. It is right on the beach at Caorle, and very popular both with local youngsters and tourists wanting to drink and dance the night away.
Don Pablo is a trend-setting night-spot with contrasting aspects: there’s the panoramic terrace overlooking the sea, where you can enjoy an aperitif at nightfall, surrounded by summer flowers; and then there’s the disco, in a very special location, where you can dance to late-night rhythms, surrounded by the magic of a moonlit beach.
